A riveting round table discussion with community and state leaders was held this morning at Macedonia Baptist Church by US Senator Dick Durbin.

We thank Senator Durbin for allowing “We the People” to attend his round table on COVID-19, the upcoming election, the census, and, quite importantly, racial justice and policing in the U.S. The Senator and other state leaders are working hard to tackle systemic racism and we applaud their efforts!

We’re happy and proud to have East St Louis Democratic Central Committee’s official endorsement of our campaign. They produce the biggest democratic votes in the 12th District and have some of the biggest needs.

When we look at the City of Champions, it’s obvious that there’s great potential. The residents of East Saint Louis are the heart of the Democratic Party in our District.

Our campaign knows how to spend money where it counts: on jobs, healthcare, addressing income inequality, and education to make people’s lives better in East Saint Louis and across the 12th District!

Fellow UMWA coal miners myself and Jack McReynolds at Coal Miners Memorial Park in West Frankfort, Illinois.

I care about coal miners. I come from a mining family. I also understand the need to move toward renewable energy, if anything for our own energy sustainability as a nation but also to combat the climate crisis. Our campaign promises the “Just Transition” for all displaced miners.

A “Just Transition” means that coal miners and energy industry workers will receive a quality of life guarantee through dual 50%/50% tax credits, incentivizing investment and employment in the renewable energy industry for current energy workers.

This will ensure that no current energy industry worker is left behind when we transition away from fossil fuels and it lets everyone have the option to become a part of the solution!

Happy Independence Day. “All men are created equal” was a noble sentiment, but it left out women, indigenous people, and millions of those enslaved. We still have much work to do for true justice. It is far past time to live up to noble words!

The electoral college is undemocratic. Created to protect slavery and the privilege of the wealthy. America would also be better off with strict limits on campaign spending with public matching funds. @realDonaldTrump and @RepBost love of Confederate flags/symbols says it all! https://t.co/j9DgOf32uJ

Happy Independence Day! Born of resistance to tyranny we must boldly forward to create a more perfect union with freedom and justice for all! Time to retire @RepBost !

Thanks to @realDonaldTrump and his “worst in the world” handling of corona virus crisis our family is not welcome in the hometown of my grandparents in Italy! With @RepBost silent lapdog performance we Americans have become pariahs in Europe. Very embarrassing!

Just retweeted @tammyduckworth charge of “total betrayal” of our troops by @realDonaldTrump ! So afraid of @Putin he won’t even punish him for bounty on our soldiers but offers seat at G-7! Disgraceful!
